How much do public bid-finding tools cost in 2026?
Published prices run from free to about $6,000 a year. Three of the best-known tools do not publish a price at all. AI matching is now available at the cheap end.
A public bid-finding tool costs anywhere from nothing to about $6,000 a year for one user at published prices. Quote-based plans can run higher. We read each vendor's own pricing page on October 31, 2026, and prices change, so check before you buy.
We sell one of these tools. VelocityBids is in the table, and it is the most expensive one there.

Yearly figures use the listed annual price where there is one, and otherwise the monthly price times 12, so some tools cost less with an annual discount. BidSync's monthly prices are billed annually.
No published price: BidPrime (quoted annually by geography, with a 30-day trial), GovSpend, GovWin IQ and RFPMart. Any figure you see for these on a third-party site is likely an estimate.
What the money buys
- Free plans show you what one network holds. Euna's free plan and BidNet Basic send notices from the agencies on that network. If your buyers are on it, this may be all you need.
- Listings and alerts, at roughly $20 to $235 a month, widen the reach. You set the keywords or categories and read the results.
- AI matching has reached the low end. VendorLine says it delivers a ranked shortlist with reasons to your dashboard each morning, and it lists AI bid matching in its $897 a year plan. Bid Banana ranks by fit. GovDirections and Euna Pro advertise AI matching too. BidSparq sits higher.
- Market intelligence, such as spend data and analyst tracking, is where the quote-only products sit. These products sell spend and contract data along with bid alerts.
How to choose
Start with where you sell. If you work with a handful of agencies, register with them directly and use a free plan. National coverage is wasted money if you only bid in two counties.
If you sell across a state or region, price your team's time. Three hours a week of searching at a loaded $60 an hour comes to about $9,400 a year. That is an example, so use your own figures. Saving half of it pays for most tools here.
Ask any vendor these before you sign:
- Which of my target buyers do you cover? Give them five names and ask.
- How fast does a new bid reach me? Vendors range from real-time alerts to a weekly email.
- Do I get the documents, or a link to a portal that needs its own login?
- What does a normal week of results look like for a company like mine?
Where VelocityBids fits
Here are our answers to those questions. We check 20,000+ public sources, including many buyers' own websites. We estimate we hold 45% to 70% of state and local bids, with medium-low confidence as of October 29, 2026. Bid Monitoring is a weekly email, so it is slower than the real-time tools above. Each match comes with the reason it fits and the official link, and we hold documents for 58% of open state and local bids and 29% of federal SAM.gov bids.
We set the matching up around your exact services and area, and that is what the higher price pays for. Whether it beats a cheaper tool for you is a fair question, and we have not tested that against rivals. A low-volume bidder should use a free plan. To compare, enter your website and see your matches with no card. Our pricing page has the details.
