Public bid portal directory
27 official state and city portals and 3 private multi-buyer platforms, where US state and local buyers post bids, with the date each page answered, what each says about registering where we could read it, and where a listing leaves bids out.
What this directory is
A short list of portals we confirmed: 27 official state and city portals and 3 private multi-buyer platforms. Official portals link to their official pages, and the platforms to their own sites. It is not complete: it holds 30 listings, with portals in 23 of the 50 states and DC, and the other 28 have none listed yet.
Registration lines come from pages each operator publishes, which we read on November 1, 2026. They are not legal or procurement advice, and your solicitation controls.

Where a portal listing leaves bids out
A statewide portal rarely carries every buyer in its state. The release counts the sources behind cleared bids due August 3, 2026 to November 2, 2026, and the share of those bids that sat on a source on no platform we track, such as a city or district posting on its own website. A listing in this directory does not reach those bids.
We estimate we hold 45% to 70% of state and local bids, medium-low confidence, as of October 29, 2026. That was measured separately from this release. How we count.

Where one source supplies 50% or moreof a state's cleared bids, the counts for that state largely describe that source. Sources are not named.
- Colorado. One source supplies 62.9% of the 437 cleared bids due in Colorado, at least 50%, so the counts for Colorado largely describe that source.
- Hawaii. One source supplies 63.0% of the 571 cleared bids due in Hawaii, at least 50%, so the counts for Hawaii largely describe that source.
- Kentucky. One source supplies 68.0% of the 325 cleared bids due in Kentucky, at least 50%, so the counts for Kentucky largely describe that source.
- Michigan. One source supplies 53.2% of the 894 cleared bids due in Michigan, at least 50%, so the counts for Michigan largely describe that source.
- Oregon. One source supplies 54.0% of the 656 cleared bids due in Oregon, at least 50%, so the counts for Oregon largely describe that source.
- South Carolina. One source supplies 85.4% of the 1,737 cleared bids due in South Carolina, at least 50%, so the counts for South Carolina largely describe that source.
- Vermont. One source supplies 63.6% of the 184 cleared bids due in Vermont, at least 50%, so the counts for Vermont largely describe that source.
These are observed counts of cleared sources, not a count of every portal in a state. Cleared means a row passed our tests: 23,973 of the 103,851 rows due in the window did, and the rest were left out by named rules, each step counted in exclusions.json and on the response windows page. More in portal fragmentation.
How we read registration terms
A registration line appears only when a page the portal's operator publishes says it, and each one names the page and the day we read it. Where a page does not say whether registration is needed to view or answer a bid, we say that and do not guess. We read the terms for 25 of the 30 portals on November 1, 2026. Terms change, so check the portal before you rely on one.
Not read: Colorado VSS; Florida Vendor Bid System; Hawaii HANDS; Michigan SIGMA Vendor Self-Service; Rhode Island purchasing bid search. On November 1, 2026 we could not read a page that states their terms, and the reason differs by portal: a page refused our automated request, or loads its content with scripts. The reason for each is on its card.
What is listed and what is left out
A portal is listed only if its own page answered below HTTP 400 on the date shown and its robots.txt permits that page. The status is the page's, not a statement about the portal's terms. We checked 36 candidates. 30 answered and are listed, and 6 could not be confirmed. 6 more were left out unchecked because their robots.txt disallows the page, their terms limit how we can use their data, or we have not cleared them for republication. We do not name the portals left out for robots.txt or terms. The 6 we could not confirm are named in the JSON download. A missing portal is not a judgment of that portal.
This page lists portal names and addresses only. It lists no individual bids and republishes no portal's content. Download the directory as CSV or JSON, or read how we count public bids. Corrections to hello@velocitybids.ai.
