BidNet Direct pricing, limits and alternatives
BidNet Direct is free for bids from agencies on its own network and $599 to $1,999 a year for aggregated state and local bids. Here is what each plan covers, where we are worse, and what to compare it with.
BidNet Direct is the supplier side of a network that government agencies use to publish and award bids. Its free Basic plan sends bids from agencies on that network. Paid plans add aggregated state and local bids from outside it. This page covers what each plan includes, where its own pages disagree, and what to compare it with.
We sell a competing tool, so weigh that. Every fact about BidNet comes from its own pages on November 1, 2026. Coverage numbers are BidNet's claims and we have not tested them.
What BidNet Direct includes
| Plan | Price, before tax | What it covers | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 | Bids from all member agencies | Browse and submit bids to member agencies. Real-time bid matches by email |
| Local | $599 a year; monthly view shows $199 a month | Aggregated state and local bids from one state of your choice | Saved advanced searches and a daily bid match summary |
| Regional | $1,199 a year | Three states of your choice | Same as Local |
| National | $1,999 a year | All states | Same as Local |
| Federal Bids add-on | $149 a year | Federal bids from your chosen states | A daily federal match summary |
| Advertising Profile add-on | $249 a year | Not a bid source | A starred, high-visibility profile with logos, videos and brochures |
| Construction bundle with PinPoint Analytics | $499 a year, added to a plan | Not a bid source | Award details, market trends, competitive intelligence and historical bid research for construction |
The home page claims bids from over 90,000 government agencies, over 25,000 daily open bids and more than 280,000 suppliers. Its site footer names 49 purchasing groups, most of them one per state, from Alabama to Wisconsin, including MITN and Rocky Mountain. Those figures are BidNet's own.
A price conflict on the plan page
The plan page has a yearly toggle labeled "Save 50%." In the yearly view, Local is $599. In the monthly view the page shows only Local, at $199 a month. Twelve months at $199 is $2,388, so the yearly price is about 75% lower, not 50%. We cannot tell whether the monthly view is current, so ask BidNet which price applies to you before you buy. In the monthly view, Regional and National disappear, and the page's hidden text says they are "Available with annual billing only."
What to check before you pay
- Are your buyers members? Basic is free for member agencies. If your key buyers post on a BidNet purchasing group, you may not need a paid plan.
- Documents. The plan page we read does not say whether paid plans include bid document downloads. Ask, and find out what a bid link opens: the documents, or the buyer's own portal.
- Seats. The page does not state how many users a plan allows.
- Awards. Award details come through the construction add-on, so competitor and pricing data is a separate purchase.
- Taxes. The page says displayed prices do not include applicable taxes.
Where BidNet is better than us
It is cheaper. Local is $599 a year and National is $1,999, against $5,988 for Bid Monitoring. It has a free plan that sends real bid matches. We show you matches free, but our trial needs a card. If your buyers are on its purchasing groups, free Basic bids reach you straight from them. And it has a construction award-data add-on. We do not sell a construction award database. Full Service, custom priced and outside the table, adds a go or no-go call on every bid, competitor bids, prices and scores through public records requests, and response drafts your team reviews.
Where we differ
Bid Monitoring sends live, daily alerts matched to your services and area, with the reason each bid fits and the official link. We check 20,000+ public sources and estimate we hold 45% to 70% of state and local bids, with medium-low confidence as of October 29, 2026. As of October 29 to November 1, 2026 (how we count), we hold documents for 51% to 58% of state and local bids and 29% of federal bids on SAM.gov. A bid has to reach us first, and we do not collect every source every day. We have not tested our coverage against BidNet's, so we claim no advantage over it. The extra price pays for matching set up around your exact work. If that matters less to you than a low bill, BidNet is the safer choice.

How to test it
Take five buyers you sell to and check whether BidNet shows them, on the free plan first. Then log two weeks of alerts from BidNet and any other tool you try, and mark the bids you would actually bid. Download the five-buyer worksheet to record it.
